Consultancy Service - Case Study
Ezeview are an Interbet Company specialising in online educational software together with filtered content and e-mail for schools and colleges.
When the ISP that was hosting their infrastructure ceased trading and the virtual ISP services that they provided were cut off overnight, a quick, robust but temporary infrastructure deployment was required whilst they moved to a new location.
Effective Desktop rolled out a “new” ISP infrastructure (based on some of the acquired assets of the old ISP). This included provision of 0845 access, invisible proxying, content filtering, RADIUS, SQL/Web integration, E-Mail, DNS, Web services and remote administration.
The project achieved in less than 3 working days the following
- Minimal service interruption from the end user perspective.
- A technically robust solution that, if not elegant, was fault tolerant, resilient and reasonably secure given the limited resources and aggressive project schedule
- An ppen ended breathing space whilst options could be discussed and possible solutions evaluated and then absorbed into the business – instead of flexing the business to incorporate a reactive solution to adverse circumstances
- The ability to manage and administer the system themselves reducing support overheads and simplifying migration strategies.
